Parent and Member Information

Parents:
Please read the Scout Handbook, and merit badge books with your son. Your support, guidance and encouragement are vital to his growth as a young man. Troop rosters, schedules of events and website news will be provided periodically to give you information on planned activities. The troop leaders will try to give as much notice as possible of activities so your participation can be scheduled. The troop committee and scoutmaster invite you to take an active part in the troop - regardless of how many we seem to have, there are NEVER enough adults. A Boy Scout unit is only as strong as the adult leadership that supports it. Besides, it is fun. You are welcome to come visit our Troop meetings and/or outings anytime. If you have any questions please contact any of our adult leaders listed on the Adult Leadership page.

Dues, Expenses, and Uniforms:
Dues:
Each scout pays $75 annual dues to the troop. This pays for national registration all advancement badges, merit badges and Boy's Life magazine. When you register with Troop 333, our committee chairperson will provide a complete breakdown of the fee for you.

Uniforms:
Scout uniforms should be worn to all Troop meetings and outings. Uniform for meetings is regulation Class A, including a long- or short- sleeved Scout shirt, red shoulder loops and appropriate insignia, belt and scout pants or shorts. Merit badge sashes are worn on formal occasions such as Courts of Honor, special ceremonies, and boards of review. Uniform for outings: while traveling - Class B; while in camp (Scout t-shirt). We have a uniform exchange for serviceable, but outgrown uniforms (Class A).

Expenses:
In addition to dues and uniforms described, each Scout must have a Scout Handbook merit badge books as needed and field equipment as needed (sleeping bag, poncho, canteen, flashlight, compass, etc.) The Troop maintains the tents that are also used. The Troop has many merit badge books that are available for loan(25cent per loan) from our library and will accept books that have been bought by the scouts to share with others coming through the program..
